TILLIES PHOTOSHOP ART WORK

This Photoshop imagery series pays tribute to the Matildas football team. After finishing the World Cup in a record position of fourth place, they have not only inspired me, a current soccer player, but a whole nation of people. The 2023 World Cup broke so many records, both internationally and nationally here in Australia, the event will be celebrated for a while to come.

For this series I chose four Matildas players to use; Sam Kerr as she is the Captain, Mackenzie Arnold as she is the goalkeeper and had an outstanding tournament, Mary Fowler as she is the youngest member of the team and Hayley Raso as she was Australia’s top goal scorer in the 2023 World Cup.

The imagery is a collage inspired to showcase the many action shots of the players and highlight their achievements within the sport. The design also adds a sense of heroism to the players, as they have now become heroes to many Australians’. The vector-inspired four-tone aesthetic was chosen to bring unison among the many different photos of the players, but also to keep consistency across each image. The style of imagery is fun, playful and entertaining, which represents the Matildas team. The team is also represented through the colours chosen, and the background swirl pattern.
